John stepped into my life and became far more than a stepdad — he became the dad I needed. Through every high and every low, he was always there with love, support, and strength. He never had to, but he chose to stand by me every single day, and that is something I will be forever grateful for. The memories we shared will stay with me for a lifetime, and the impact he had on my life will never fade. He will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten. ❤️

John was one half of the formidable managerial team of Lochside AFC during the mid-1980s, alongside Rab Turner. Come rain or shine John was there, cheering us on with his inimitable words of advice and indomitable spirit, and cheering us up if we lost (which didn't happen very often!). Yes a manager but more so a friend, and a good one. RIP John, you legend.

John you will never know how much you were loved. Thank you for stepping up to be the second dad I didn't know I needed. You were there for me everyday, a constant through the good and the bad.
You were the best papa to Alisha and Rocco, the center of their world and they love you so much.
We have a lifetime of memories with you and your spirit will live on through each of us.
Love and miss you always ❤️

Always in our hearts, minds and never forgotten!

Life takes us on many journeys, and as we grow older and reflect we see what really is important. What makes us rich isn’t the money we make but the loving people who enrich our lives and are always there on our sides. We honor a man with a big heart, a kind and loving Papa who was always there for his family when they needed a hand. There truly are few men in this world who have these qualities and character as he embodied!

We love and will always miss you Papa!
